Nine killed in car accidents following an extremely fatal weekend
Four people died in accidents on Friday and another five on Saturday.

Motor vehicle accidents claimed the lives of nine people in eight separate incidents around the country this weekend.A 40-year-old man was killed in Beit Shemesh on Saturday night after his vehicle supposedly crashed into a parked bus. "When I arrived at the scene I saw a vehicle with its front smashed," Zaka Beit Shemesh chief Abraham Kap said.Two youths approximately approximately aged 25 were killed in an accident on Saturday night where their van crashed into another vehicle and tipped over. Two more women in the other vehicle were lightly injured.Earlier on Saturday, a 60-year-old man was killed after his tractor flipped near Tayibe, while another 30-year-old woman was killed in an accident involving a private vehicle and a bus on route 781.Four people died in accidents on Friday within the span of a few hours. An accident in Jerusalem claimed the life of a 30-year-old motorcyclist who was hit by a car.In Ashdod, a 15-year-old on an electric scooter was hit by a car and succumbed to his wounds in the hospital.Additionally, a motorcyclist died in an accident with a private vehicle on the Ayalon expressway. The three passengers of the private vehicle were evacuated to the hospital with light injuries.Around the same time, a 14-year-old riding his electric bicycle died in the hospital after being hit by a car on Route 8544 in the Galilee.On Saturday, two more accidents proved fatal.The first involved a woman in her car who was hit by a bus. Medics arrived on the scene and attempted to provide life-saving treatment, but pronounced her dead shortly after.Three other people involved in the accident were evacuated to the hospital with light injuries. Police opened an investigation on the reasoning behind the accident.The second accident of the day involved a man in Taybeh, who died after his tractor flipped over and crushed him beneath it. Magen David Adom medics pronounced him dead at the scene.“Prime minister, wake up!” said Knesset Deputy Speaker Hamad Amer, a Yisrael Beytenu MK and chairman of the Lobby for Combating Road Accidents. “You established an executive committee instead of our demand for a ministerial committee.”
