The family of a Dr. Dimitri Goldin, a senior urologist at Carmel Medical Center in Haifa, donated his organs for transplant on Sunday after he suffered lower-brain death in a car accident when letting his soldier son off at a train station.

Goldin’s wife, also a physician at the Haifa hospital, said he carried an ADI organ donor card and would have wanted his organs to save others. The Israel Transplant Center asked the Israel Police to clear the Haifa-Tel Aviv Highway so his body with the organs could be taken as soon as possible to a hospital in the center for the country and prepared for transplant.
