IDF receives new signals intelligence chief and special ops commander

The IDF announced a series of new appointments on Monday to senior posts, including commanders who will head up some of the most sensitive and classified military units.• Col. A (not his full name) will become head of Unit 8200, the signals intelligence unit in Military Intelligence, and will become a brigadier-general.• Col. G. will head up IDF’s special operations as a brigadier- general.• According to a military statement, Brig.-Gen. Eran Niv will become the commander of the Judea and Samaria Division.• Col. Guy Hazot will become commander of the Red Formation, which defends southern Israel down to Eilat).• Col. Yaron Finkelman will become commander of the 98 Division, which is under Central Command.• Brig.-Gen. Rafel Maloa has been named the next commander of the Galilee Division.• Col. Eyal Qarim will become the next IDF Chief Rabbi, and will be promoted to the rank of brigadier-general.• Col. Peleg Niago will become commander of Tel Nof airbase, near Gedera, and will be promoted to the rank of brigadier- general.• Col. Tarif Bader will become chief medical officer and will be promoted to the rank of brigadier- general.
