Israel presents ‘Roar’: a new non-lethal crowd dispersal means

The new device, named ‘Roar,’ was used during Saturday clashes along the Gaza Border.

Israel has developed a new non-lethal method to disperse crowds called ‘Roar’ [in Hebrew, Sheaga], Arutz Sheva reported on Sunday.
The device uses radio waves.
Not much has been published about the new system. It is likely to be derived from existing Long Range Acoustic Devices [LRAD] which emit warning tunes at a very high frequency humans cannot tolerate and may cause long-term damage to hearing if exposed to it over time.
LRAD has been used since 2009.
Other non-lethal methods to disperse crowds include sticky riot foam and high-impact water cannons.
