Israeli arrested on suspicion of assaulting hospital nurse who treated him
The suspect was not pleased with the medical treatment he received, and allegedly hurled a bottle at a nurse's face.

A 53-year-old Israeli man was arrested Sunday on suspicion that he attacked a nurse who treated him at the Ichilov hospital in Tel Aviv.Police suspect that the man, a resident of Tel Aviv, was not pleased with the medical care he received and responded by attacking the nurse and hurling a bottle of water at her, which hit her in the face.The man was detained and will be brought to Tel Aviv's HaShalom court for a discussion about the extension of his remand. Police is still investigating the incident, and the Ichilov hospital has yet to comment.This, unfortunately, is not the first incident of its kind. At the end of September, security personnel were battered by six men at the ER of the Ichilov hospital. This incident started when Israeli model Elia Kadosh, who has reportedly previously threatened hospital staff, tried to steal a cellphone from a nurse. A security guard at the hospital rushed to the nurse's aid and separated between her and the patient before the altercation could further escalate.In reaction to a slew of recent reports concerning Israelis who have attacked medical staff in hospitals across the country, MK Ayelet Nachmias-Verbin (Zionist Union) drafted a new bill proposing to enforce stricter legal repercussions on people who attack medical staff.According to her bill, the current punishment (five years behind bars) will be extended to seven years of imprisonment as well as reinstate a minimal punishment that would send attackers of hospital staff to jail for a baseline period of six months.
