Hapoel Jerusalem continued to defend its BSL championship, emerging as the victor of its BSL quarterfinals series against a feisty Hapoel Gilboa/Galil.
Tuesday night’s 99-77 triumph in Gan Ner gave the Reds a 3-1 series conquest to set up a Final Four duel vs either Hapoel Holon or Hapoel Eilat.
Jerusalem coach Oded Katash gave plenty of credit to Gilboa/Galil.
“This is one of the best teams Gilboa has had – they have very high quality players and they never gave up. This was not an easy series for us.”
Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv both advanced to the semifinals on Monday and will face off against each other for a chance at the title.
Meanwhile, No. 7 Hapoel Eilat refused to succumb to second-seeded Hapoel Holon, extending their series to a decisive fifth game with an 87-80 victory on Tuesday night and setting up a win-or-go-home match in Holon on Thursday night.
