Manhunt ends as Holon man wanted for murder of ex-wife found dead

Yehuda Cohen, wanted for murder, was found dead in a Ashkelon park on Wednesday, ending a three-day manhunt.Lachish subdistrict police said the Holon man was found hanging from a tree in Ashkelon National Park, and his cause of death was ruled a suicide.Cohen had been on the run since Sunday night, after his ex-wife Ilana Cohen was found murdered in her apartment in Holon. Police had received a call from the couple’s son, who said he forced his way into the apartment and found his mother lying lifeless on the floor with stab wounds to her upper body.On Wednesday morning, police arrived at the family home in Holon, where they were sitting shiva for Ilana, to inform the children that their father had been found dead as well.Tel Aviv police said the investigation is ongoing and they haven’t ruled out the possibility that someone other than Yehuda murdered Ilana, though he is the chief suspect.The Cohens had no history of domestic violence that was known to police or to social services, Tel Aviv police said.
