Fifth to be arrested for allegedly allowing entry without permits

An officer in the Military Police was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of accepting bribes from Palestinians at the Taiba checkpoint in the West Bank in exchange for allowing them to enter Israel without the required permits, the IDF confirmed on Tuesday.
According to the IDF Spokesman, the arrested policeman was the commander of the four soldiers who were arrested at the end of January for the same illegal act.
The soldiers, along with an Israeli Arab from the city of Kalansuwa and two Palestinians, were arrested after a covert investigation following intelligence received by the security forces three months ago.
The five military policemen are suspected of accepting thousands of shekels in bribes.
The IDF Spokesman stated that the army is currently carrying out a joint investigation into the case with the Justice Ministries Police Internal Affairs Unit.
