Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Minnesotan Democratic Senator Tina Smith who is currently in Israel.
Smith is the first non-Jewish politician to represent Minnesota in forty years having taken over from Al Franken in 2018, the Forward reported.
The 40-year streak began in 1978 with Rudy Boschwitz and continued with Paul Wellstone and Norman Coleman, ending with Franken.
California now hold the longest record of being represented by a Jewish-American politician with a Jewish senator since 1992.
