MK Anat Berko (Likud) released an election video on Tuesday in which she is depicted as being "kidnapped" by a Palestinian terrorist and forced to answer a series of questions. At the end of the video, the man is revealed to be her husband.
During the mock interrogation, Berko says that she opposes the Palestinian national struggle because "you are attempting to create a state to replace us, which will never happen," adding, "do you really think that people like [former Joint List MK] Basel Ghattas should be in Knesset?"
Ghattas is currently serving time in prison for smuggling phones into Ketziot prison to Palestinian inmates who are convicted terrorists. Although he was an MK at the time, he was not physically searched, as members of Knesset enjoy parliamentary immunity.
Berko is an acknowledged expert in the field of the psychology of terrorism, having conducted 15 years of interviews with male and female inmates who attempted to carry out terrorist attacks against Israelis. Her husband, Reuven Berko, is also an expert on Arab affairs.
