MK Robert Ilatov [Yisrael Beiteinu] said that the defacing of a billboard in Ashdod, in which the female model was removed, is a sign of growing religious-based intolerance in the city.
Ashdod is the home of many Israelis of Russian origin, who are perceived to be more secular in their orientation, as well as many Haredi Jewish people.
"The fanaticism and enforcement of religious values in Ashdod is getting worse every day," Ilatov said.
The MK claimed that there's a clear line- marching through grocery stores that got notifications for working on Saturday, fines imposed at large commercial centers that worked on the Jewish days of rest, the closing of water-park rides and now defacing of billboards - for having a female model on them, are not appropriate.
The ad depicts a woman, fully covered in a body suit, seen laying in a bathtub with only a portion of her legs and upper torso visible.
Saying that it's the Likud lead government that "runs away time after time from voting on the enlistment law" [aimed to draft Haredi people into the IDF]" he lamented that "this is the disgraceful outcome."
