Israeli synagogue in Modi'in Illit vandalized, Torah scrolls damaged

Several pieces of silverware from the Torah scrolls were also stolen.

A synagogue was broken into in the ultra-Orthodox city of Modi’in Illit on Sunday night, according to police reports.
Worshipers arriving on Monday morning discovered that the doors to the synagogue’s ark had been opened and damage had been inflicted onto the Torah scrolls that were stored inside.
In addition, several pieces of silver, originally attached to the scrolls, were stolen.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
