Netanyahu to address US Jewish leaders via satellite
Netanyahu has addressed the conference for several years.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will address via satellite the Jewish Federations of North America’s annual meeting to be held in Los Angeles next month, contrary to headlines last week shouting that a rift with US Jewry over the Western Wall issue would prevent him from appearing.“We are thrilled to once again have Prime Minister Netanyahu with us at this year’s GA, as we have now for so many years running,” Richard Sandler, chairman of the Federation’s Board of Trustees, said Monday in a statement.“It’s a clear display of how important the relationship between Israel and the North American Jewish community is viewed by the Israeli government and by the prime minister himself,” he said. “This is a very, very welcome addition to our program.”Netanyahu is scheduled to be interviewed and address the group live from his office – just as was done last year – on November 14.Amid ongoing tension between Netanyahu’s government and segments of American Jewry over the creation of an egalitarian prayer space at the Western Wall and the conversion issue, reports emerged last week claiming that because of this Netanyahu would not appear at the event, and calling it a sign of a growing rift between the government and Diaspora Jewry.
