It’s been almost eight months since Israel’s Netta Barzilai won first place at the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon. But come February 1, the “Toy” singer will finally be releasing a new, original song.
Barzilai teased the upcoming release on her social media platforms, noting that the new song will be called “Bassa Sababa.” While the song will be in English, the name is Hebrew slang that is derived from Arabic, and roughly translates to “Bummer, Great.”
The singer also included a rhinocerous emoji with the announcement, since the animal will reportedly feature in the video.

According to Israel Hayom, the song was penned by Barzilai along with songwriters Stav Beger and Avshalom Ariel (Beger also took part in writing “Toy”).
The song is slated to be released on the same day as a music video that Barzilai shot in Kiev last year.
Since her big win at the Eurovision in May, Barzilai has performed around the globe, bringing out crowds at shows across Europe and even performing “Toy” on NBC’s The TODAY Show in the US.
“Bassa Sababa” will mark her first new song since “Toy” was released almost 10 months ago.
