Settlers removed a white modular structure in a new outpost they had attempted to create in teh Gush Etzion Region of the West Bank on land belonging to the Palestinian village of Battir.
Peace Now first reported on the outpost early this week and provided video of the trucks bringing equipment to the outpost.
“About a week ago, a new, illegal road was opened to the hill. The settlers completed the road in the night, which reached the outpost,” the left-wing group Peace Now said.
On Sunday night, Peace Now said, settlers put up a structure for what was supposed to be an agricultural farm.
They used a bulldozer to keep Palestinians from Battir from accessing the outpost, Peace Now said.
Palestinians from Battir reported the matter to the IDF and to the police, Peace Now said.
The office of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories said that the Civil Administration confiscated the equipment “used in the carrying out of illegal activity at the location in question [Battir]. Moreover, a stop work order was issued on site.”
“We emphasize that moving forward, enforcement will be carried in accordance with regulations and subject to operational considerations,” COGAT said.
On Monday, the out post structure was removed, according to Peace Now. It’s presumed that settlers took it down after the Civil Administration enforcement action,
