A 32-year-old man was found hanged inside an Egged bus in Jerusalem, Palestinian media reported Sunday night.
The deceased was an east-Jerusalem resident from A-Tur who worked as a bus driver in Israel, according to Ma'an. The Bethlehem-based news agency said he was evacuated to a hospital from Givat Shaul – the west Jerusalem neighborhood where he was found.
Palestinian media is claiming the man – identified as Yusuf al-Ramouni – was killed by settlers. Ma'an quoted witnesses as saying they saw the "execution." The Palestinian Authority has declared al-Ramouni a "martyr."
A Jewish man of the same age was injured several hours earlier when he was stabbed in the back with a screwdriver on a downtown street in the capital. The suspect fled by foot toward the Old City's Damascus Gate, prompting police to put up multiple road blocks in the area.
Security forces conducted a widespread search for the suspect, who remains at large.
