The cabinet is expected to authorize a reshuffle on Sunday as a team-up of two Likud ministers pressuring Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu bears fruit.Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon will take on the Economy Ministry but will not get the labor and employment section.The Economy Ministry originally had been offered to Construction and Housing Minister Yoav Galant, but the latter decided to stay where he is. The labor and employment section is expected to go to Welfare Minister Haim Katz (Likud) reviving the former Welfare and Labor Ministry.Jerusalem Minister Ze’ev Elkin is expected to retain his current portfolio and also get the Environmental Protection Ministry, which Kahlon held after former minister Avi Gabbay resigned.Katz and Elkin teamed up to pressure Netanyahu not to make Elkin relinquish the Jerusalem Ministry, with Katz refusing to accept his part of the deal if Elkin didn’t keep both portfolios.Netanyahu also had sought ways to promote Minister-without-Portfolio Tzachi Hanegbi and Deputy Regional Cooperation Minister Ayoub Kara.
