American-born Israeli MK Yehuda Glick (Likud) wrote on Twitter Saturday night that Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump should stand down in light of the emergence of a tape from 2005, in which the billionaire was recorded speaking in depraved and demeaning terms about women."OK, I was wrong," Glick's post began. "When at every corner you see that the man is a savage, I tried to ignore and believe despite it all. I was wrong! Mr Trump go home. Enough is enough!"He ended the tweet with a very Israeli expression of disgust: "איכס (eechs)."
טוב טעיתי.כשמכל פינה ניתן היה לראות שהאיש פרא אדם ניסיתי להתעלם ולהאמין שאוליי בכל זאת. טעיתי!Mr. Trump go homeEnough is enough!איכס
Back in the US, the speaker of the House, the chairman of the Republican National Committee, Trump’s own vice presidential running mate and his wife have all said they were disgusted by his comments. Many more have rescinded their endorsement of the candidate.Glick, an ordained rabbi, is not the first Israeli politician to speak out about the incident. Zionist Union faction head Merav Michaeli, a noted feminist, wrote on Twitter on Saturday that she hoped “‘Pussygate’ would be the Watergate of Trump.”
