Preventive measures to be put in place to stop entry of visitors carrying Ebola

As the Ebola scare spreads worldwide, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued instructions Thursday evening for more stringent preventive measures at the entry points into Israel, including taking the body temperatures of visitors coming from areas badly hit by the disease.The directive came during a phone consultation Netanyahu held with senior officials on how to prevent the disease from crossing Israel’s borders. The consultation was conducted over the telephone and included Health Minister Yael German, ministry Director- General Arnon Afek and Ben-Gurion Airport director Shmuel Zakai.A drill will be held at Ben-Gurion on Friday morning simulating the arrival of a passenger afflicted with the disease. The drill will deal with the entire process, from questioning the visitor coming off the plane, to evacuation and hospital treatment.
