Sandstorms and very high air pollution are expected throughout Israel on Sunday, the Environmental Protection Ministry announced.
In the Negev and Eilat, sand and dust storms are predicted. The Israel Meteorological Society warned of intense winds and reduced visibility, especially until noon. In the rest of the country, high to very high air pollution is expected, especially in southern and central areas.
Air quality should improve in the evening. IMS predicted the night would be cloudy with isolated thunderstorms and showers in the north and central regions.
The Environmental Protection Ministry recommends that sensitive populations such as those with heart or lung conditions, the elderly, children and pregnant women refrain from strenuous physical activity or unnecessary outings. Even those who are healthy should avoid any demanding physical activity outdoors.
