The water level of Lake Kinneret (the Sea of Galilee) has risen more than four feet since the rainy season began in late October.
According to the Water Authority, the Kinneret has been steadily rising, increasing by some four inches since Thursday. The rise is not exceptional for this time of year.
Despite current rainfall and the lake’s increased water levels, the Kinneret is still more than 16 feet below the level that is considered full. While water levels are expected to rise as the winter progresses, during the summer months, evaporation can cause a drop of as much as 0.4 inches a day.
