El Al will serve as the official airline of the Israeli Olympic delegation for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, following the signing of a new strategic partnership with the Olympic Committee of Israel.

The agreement, which was formalized at a special ceremony held Wednesday at El Al headquarters, reflects a shared commitment to excellence, national pride, and supporting Israeli athletes on their journey to the world’s biggest sporting stage.

El Al CEO Dina Ben Tal Ganancia and Olympic Committee Chair Yael Arad signed the partnership, which ensures that the national airline will accompany Israeli athletes not only to Los Angeles in 2028, but also to the European Games in the summer of 2027.

The collaboration includes a comprehensive support framework for the athletes, with the goal of providing them with a travel experience that feels like home – even when they are thousands of miles away representing Israel on the global stage.

As part of the announcement, El Al revealed a symbolic gesture of support for the team: a Boeing 787 Dreamliner was adorned with a custom decal featuring the joint logo of the Olympic Committee of Israel and El Al. The aircraft, now proudly carrying the emblem of Israel’s Olympic pride, will accompany the national team throughout its preparations for the Games and serve as a flying ambassador of Israeli sporting excellence.

The event brought together several prominent Israeli athletes who have recently represented the country with distinction. Among those in attendance were Olympic medalists, world champions, and members of Israel’s top sports delegations, many of whom are already focused on their next international challenges. Their presence underscored the sense of unity and national pride that this partnership aims to cultivate.

Values uniting the airline and Olympic movement

Speaking at the ceremony, El Al CEO Dina Ben Tal Ganancia emphasized the deep values that unite the airline and the Olympic movement.

“The Israeli Olympic delegation represents everything that is inspiring about the Israeli spirit – excellence, determination, discipline, and teamwork,” she said. “

These are the same values that guide us at El Al, as Israel’s national airline connecting the country to the world. Supporting our athletes on their journey to the international stage is more than a partnership – it’s a national mission and a tremendous honor. We are committed to providing them with the best possible conditions for travel, so they can focus fully on their vital task: representing Israel with pride.”

Yael Arad, who became Israel’s first Olympic medalist in 1992 and now leads the Olympic Committee, expressed her gratitude and confidence in the new partnership.

“We found in El Al’s leadership an exceptional level of professionalism and a deep understanding of Olympic needs,” she said.

“I’m extremely proud of this partnership. The connection with El Al feels natural to us – we share a commitment to excellence and Israeli pride. Just as importantly, we know we can rely on them as we head out on these critically important national missions to represent Israel and the Israeli spirit around the world.”
