Over 50,000 runners participated in the Tel Aviv Marathon on Friday, making it the largest in the nation's history, Walla reported. 

Notably, over the course of the marathon, 35 runners received medical attention at Sourasky Medical Center's medical tent, including six who were brought to the hospital for extended observation and treatment.

Runners were tended to in the medical tent for heatstroke, general weakness, arrhythmia, and various orthopedic injuries.

Runners treated for heatstroke in critical condition

Five of the runners were considered in critical condition after being brought to the tent for heatstroke. They were immediately treated with ice baths to lower their body temperature.

Another two runners treated were considered in medium condition, and the remainder of those treated in the tent were considered in mild condition and released following observation.
