Maccabi Tel Aviv officially announced on Sunday the signing of Keaton Wallace (27, 1.91 meters), who signed a two-year contract and is expected to earn approximately $1 million per season. "I am ready to get to work with my new team, win games, and also have fun," said the guard, who arrives after two years with the Atlanta Hawks.
"Keaton is a player who brings toughness and intensity on both ends of the court," said Oded Kattash. "We are confident he will quickly connect with the team and the fans and help us achieve our goals this season." Club chairman Shimon Mizrahi added: "I warmly welcome this signing of a player with an NBA background. In fact, as of now, he completes the puzzle of the team roster, and this is the place to thank Claudio and the professional staff for the intensive work that was done."
Keaton is the older brother of Cason Wallace, a former NBA champion with Oklahoma City and one of the league's top defensive players. In his rookie season in the NBA, he left a positive impression, averaging 5.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 16 minutes per game. Among other highlights, he set a career high of 27 points against the Chicago Bulls and recorded his first career triple-double, finishing with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and 15 assists in a victory over the Orlando Magic. Last summer, the guard also generated interest from EuroLeague teams, but ultimately signed a contract for another season with the Hawks.
Wallace went undrafted in the 2021 draft after graduating from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), but managed to pave his way to the NBA. "If you want to play basketball, I am living proof that anything is possible," he said during 2025. "You just have to put your head down and work hard. My path was not the most glamorous, but you can reach wherever you want."
