Ga’ash crowns club champions

Ashley Silber took the men’s top prize, Nikita Ben- Ami emerge as the ladies’ champion, while Amos Aharoni finished first in the super seniors event.

Last week at Ga’ash Golf Club featured the 2016 Club Championships, which brought a jam-packed field of 72 golfers over the two-day tournament.
Ashley Silber took the men’s top prize, Nikita Ben- Ami emerge as the ladies’ champion, while Amos Aharoni finished first in the super seniors event.
The club presented each player with a sleeve of Titleist golf balls on the first day.
Silber – the club champion at Ga’ash for the second year in a row – began by shooting an excellent 1-over-par 71 on the first day. He played the front-9 in an even-par 35, which included a birdie, seven pars and a bogie, and come home in a 1-over 36, which included eight pars and a bogie.
On the second day, Silber’s score of 76 was low enough for him to secure the title.
The men’s runner-up was Amiram Zantkern, while the gross prize in the men’s B Division went to Gadi Iram, followed by David Amir. Daniel Peled was the winner in the C Division, with Elisha Hillel in second.
The three net prizes in the men divisions, from A to C, went to Yoav Shenhav, Hugo Wainstein and Yaakov Sabo, respectively.
For the women, Ben-Ami was followed by Judi Reefe in second place, with Hadasa Alon winning the net prize. For the super seniors, Aharoni beat out Eddy Hoffman to triumph, while Brian Galgut took home the net prize.
The gross cup in the B Division super seniors went to Dani Levin, with Dani Bendel the runner-up, while the net prize was earned by Meyer Iny.
Nearest-to-the pin prizes – sponsored by the head pro at Ga’ash, David Goldenberg, the importer of Titleist golf equipment to Israel – went to Ben- Ami, Aharoni, Galgut and Hoffman.
