Ga’ash Golf Club gives back with charity tournament
The highlight of the day was a performance by the Gevatron choir, attended by over 300 people on the beautiful lawns of the club.

The Ga’ash Golf Club continued in its endeavor to support the local community by holding a tournament in which all proceeds were donated to the eye department at the Emek hospital in Afula.The idea to hold the tournament was of the head of the eye department, Dr. Daniel Brisco, and the day was organized by Rachel Weitzman, Ga’ash Golf CEO Gili Peleg and the friends of the Emek Hospital Committee.The morning event was an 18-hole better-ball Stableford 75% handicap, with 36 participants. Finishing in first place was the duo of Meir Dor and Natan Pulwer, with 41 Stableford points, while Ron Solomon and Noam Shultz came in second on 38 points.The afternoon session, with 52 players, was an individual Stableford tournament with two separate divisions.The A Division, for 0-18 handicaps, was won by Ga’ash club captain Alon Granot, with 21 Stableford points, followed by Shmulik Almagor on 19 points.The B Division had three players tie atop the leaderboard, with Pesach Borovietzky, Amos Burstein and Joe Klein finished equal on 19 points. After the count-back, Borovietzky claimed first place with Burstein in second place.The highlight of the day was a performance by the Gevatron choir, attended by over 300 people on the beautiful lawns of the Ga’ash Golf Club.Meanwhile, nearly 60 golfers teed off in this week’s August Monthly Medal at Ga’ash in warm and humid conditions.The best gross score of the day was Ashley Silber, with 77 strokes. Dor won the A Division for the second month in a row, followed by Almagor. In the B Division, both Hugo Weinstein and Ilan Mendelsohn tied on net 72, with Weinstein winning the cup on the count-back. Meyer Iny took home top prize in the C Division, followed by Ephraim Katzman, while the nearest-to-the-pin prizes went to Greg Eliot and Ori Elan.
