Last week, to beat the heat of the summer sun, the Ga’ash Golf Club held a nine-hole Twilight Tournament featuring 48 golfers playing a better-ball Stableford, 75% handicap competition.A pair of teams tied atop the leaderboard on 21 Stableford points, with the duo of Itzik Ashkanazi and Zalman Shahaff beating the Gadi Iram-Eddy Hoffman partnership on the countback.Shahaff was the top shooting, playing the nine holes in 1-over-par 36, which included a birdie, six pars and two bogeys.Nearest-to-the-pin prizes – sponsored by the Greenfield at Ga’ash restaurant – went to Steven Weil, while all participants were treated to a wine tasting by the Montefiore winery.Meanwhile, more than 40 golfers took on the perfectly manicured Ga’ash links in the July Monthly Medal as Greg Eliot returned to form by scoring a gross 77, which was the best score of the day.The A Division was won by Moshe Nessis, with Raphy Harroche in second place.
