Hapoel Jerusalem played its first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals against Tenerife on Wednesday night, pulling out a tight 75-73 victory at the Pais Arena.
J’Covan Brown scored two crucial points from the free-throw line with just two seconds remaining to give Hapoel the win.
Brown led Jerusalem with 20 points and James Feldeine (pictured above) chipped in with 18 points, however the Israeli club has its work cut out for it in next week’s second leg in Spain as the team that advances to the semifinals will be determined on accumulated total points between the two legs.
After the game, Jerusalem coach Oded Katash admitted that the ability shown by his players would not be enough for them in the second leg, and only an improvement on both offense and defend will give them a chance to advance to the semis.
