Oops! Al Jazzera Sport 'forgets' Israel in UEFA games tweet

Innocent mistake? beIN sport graphic lists only four teams who made it to group stage of UEFA Champions League after latest games, leaving off Maccabi TA.

Israelis were elated Tuesday night, after Maccabi Tel Aviv soccer team made it to the group stage of the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 11 years. But according to Al Jazeera Sport, fans were rejoicing for nothing.
A graphic posted to the Twitter feed of beIN Sports -- the name of Al Jazeera Sport since it re-branded in 2013 -- showed the teams that qualified for the group stage following Tuesday night's games. Alas, only four were displayed: Malmo, Shakhtar Donetsk, Monaco and Dinamo Zagreb.

Innocent mistake? Perhaps, since the beIN website did indeed remember that there were not four, but five teams that qualified, and made mention of the Israeli victory.

According to Asaf Zilka, who called our attention to the omission, the Maccabi victory was also not mentioned on Al Jazeera's nightly sports program.
