Team Israel wins double bridge gold at World Mind Games

Israelis take top the lead at international bridge tournament.

The Israeli delegation won its second gold medal in three days at the World Mind Games on Monday in Beijing, China.
Brothers Ophir and Ilan Herbst shared first place in the pairs event with Tor Helness and Geir Helgemo, finishing with an overall percentage score of 54.20 "It was a real close one," remarked Ophir Herbst, who was also part of the Israel squad which won the team event on Saturday.
Israel won the open team event by beating Team USA in a one-sided match.
"We had very tough opponents but they made a lot of mistakes," said Ophir Herbst as Israel, the European champion, won gold for the first time in the event.
The World Mind Games have been taking place in their current format since 2011 and include five mind sports - Bridge, Chess, Draughts, Go and Xiangqi (Chinese Chess).
