Young Israeli athletes shine

The children’s Olympics were one of the highlights of the Israel sports week, which is held once a year in an effort to raise awareness and encourage physical activity.

The eighth Israeli children’s Olympics were held at Wingate Institute last week as part of the Ministry of Culture and Sport’s annual ‘sports week.’ Over 6,000 children from across the country took part in the different events, including Special Olympic and Paralympic competitions.
The children’s Olympics were one of the highlights of the fifth installment of the Israel sports week, which is held once a year in an effort to raise awareness and encourage physical activity.
More than 500 sporting events for the public took place across the country, including the ‘Sovev Jerusalem’ bike ride, the Beersheba night run and the ‘Athena go far’ women’s event which capped the sporting week on Friday.
Approximately 500,000 people participated in the different activities.
