Marc Israel Sellem, photographer for The Jerusalem Post, captures unique moments at the Western Wall.
By JPOST.COM STAFFUpdated: OCTOBER 3, 2017 17:15The Western Wall in Jerusalem, the Kotel, is without a doubt on of the holiest sites in the world for Jews. Marking what was the outer boundary of the great Temple, destroyed two millennia ago, it is the spot that Jews yearned for for centuries in exile.Situated in direct proximity to the Temple Mount in the Old City it has often been a flashpoint for inter-religious conflict and in recent years also a cause of major dispute between different Jewish denominations. But the "Wailing Wall," as it is also known, is not just about tears and fears. It is a site that inspires the entire range of emotions from awe, to hilarity. The Jerusalem Post photographer Marc Sellem captured the wide range of feelings in his work there throughout the years.
