Thousands gathered at the Western Wall Thursday night for the annulment of vows ahead of Yom Kippur this weekend. The ritual, based on Jewish religious law, or "Halacha," allows a Jew to back out of a vow they regret.
The process is conducted under the supervision of either someone familiar with Jewish law or three laypersons who are acting as a Jewish court of law (Beit Din).
