Israel's ceremony honoring the 70th anniversary of the 1945 victory over Nazi Germany is set to take place Thursday evening at the Armored Corps Memorial at Latrun.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Reuven Rivlin, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eizenkot, and 6,000 guests, amongst them war veterans and Holocaust survivors, are expected to attend.
The event also commemorates the more than one million Jews who fought in World War II, and the 250,000 Jewish soldiers who fell during the war.
