IAF Yom Ha'atzmaut flyover
Pilots salute the country's independence as thousands of people watched from the promenades along Tel Aviv's beaches. The flyover will pass above 45 cities, and includes fighter jets, transport aircraft, and helicopters.
Israel's Air Force performed its annual Yom Ha'atzmaut flyover across Israel, which included the participation of the IAF's elite F-15 and F16 combat aircraft, along with helicopters and transport aircraft.
Throngs descended on Tel Aviv's promenades and beaches for the spectacle. More than one hundred yachts and fishing boats were at sea, dozens of kites fluttering in the sky, and the usual barbecue smells rose from all sides.
The pilots flew went a total of more than about 45 cities, including: Be'er Sheva, Yeruham, Dimona, Arad, Kiryat Gat, Rehovot, Beit Shemesh, Jerusalem, Hadera, Binyamina, Zichron Yaakov, Yokneam, Beit She'an, Afula, Nazareth, Tiberias, Katzrin Safed, Ein al-Assad, Karmiel, Yarka, Nahariya, Acre, Haifa, Dalit El Carmel, Caesarea, Netanya, Ra'anana, Herzliya, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Ashdod, Sderot, Netivot and Ofakim.
The IAF's acrobatics squadron made public displays over Ramat David, the Technical School of the Air Force in Haifa, Tel Nof and off the coast of Tel Aviv finishing at around midday.
