Israeli Naval forces completed a 24-hour drill on the northern front, exercising taking control of hijacked civilian vessels and releasing hostages on Tuesday, according the IDF Spokesperson's Unit.The drill started Monday night in a scenario where Israeli Navy received a report that a civilian vessel has been hijacked with hostages on board.The drill rescue was performed by the Israeli Navy's Shayetet 13 commando unit, with the aid from missile boats and other security equipment.Commander of the Israeli Navy's shipyard, Brigadier General Ido stressed the importance of the drill explaining that "the nature of the naval wing's activity requires training its forces in complex and challenging positions."The Navy commander also stated that "the forces carried out the drill successfully and will continue to train and perform drills in order to ensure Israel's security at sea."
