"In the beginning of January we opened the site for skiing," said CEO of the Hermon site, Alon Friedman. "Last year, the first business day was 28.1 degrees and the snow was minimal for skiing."
"The site will be open for skiing and the conditions will be optimal," Friedman said.
Further, the rain was heavy throughout the country on Wednesday morning and the winds strong, though both elements gradually diminished throughout the day. Nonetheless, temperatures were unusually cold for the season: Haifa 12 degrees Celsius, Jerusalem 7, Tel Aviv and Center District 14, Shefela 14 and Beer Sheva 13.
The water level in the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) rose by 20 cm. The last time the Kinneret had a drastic spike like Wedenesday's was in October, when sea rose 11 cm. in 24 hours, following heavy rainfall.
