Five border policemen were wounded Wednesday night, one of them moderately and four lightly, when they were attacked while demolishing an illegally-built structure in the Israeli Arab village of Kafr Kassem. The officer who was moderately wounded was hit in the head, and evacuated to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva for treatment. Police said that during the evacuation of the structure, police encountered "heavy resistance," with local residents hurling rocks and Molotov cocktails at the forces. Four suspects were apprehended and police said additional arrests were forthcoming. The building was demolished.
