Amona probe to publish initial findings

The committee probing the violent activities that occurred during the evacuation of the illegal outpost in Amona some seven weeks ago, were expected to release their initial findings on Tuesday. According to the report, the government and the police used excessive force against the demonstrators who congregated at the site in an attempt to prevent the razing of eight structures. They also criticized the police for not assigning enough women to deal with the female demonstrators, Israel Radio reported. On the other hand, the committee stated that a compromise submitted by the Council of Judea, Samaria and Gaza (Yesha), proposing to destroy the structures themselves, had not been formulated thoroughly enough, and doubted whether it could have been implemented.
