Ashkenazi, other top brass tour Gaza Strip, speak with IDF troops

IDF Chief of General Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi entered the Gaza Strip on Thursday to see up close the Israeli military operation against Hamas.
Ashkenazi was joined by commander of the Gaza Division, Brig.-Gen. Eyal Eizenberg.
In the Strip, Ashkenazi met with Golani Brigade commander Col. Yossi Peled and Givati Brigade commander Col. Ilan Malka, and spent some three hours speaking to other commanders and troops.
The IDF said that Ashkenazi's tour was spontaneous and that he was not at risk at any point.
