At least 581 Israelis, Lebanese dead in fighting

At least 581 people have been reported killed in Israel and Lebanon since fighting broke out July 12 between the IDF and Hizbullah guerrillas. Fifty-one Israelis have been killed, including 33 members of the military and 18 civilians, according to authorities. More than 59 soldiers have been wounded, and more than 335 civilians, according to rescue officials. At least 524 have been killed - including 458 civilians confirmed dead by the Health Ministry, 21 Lebanese soldiers and at least 42 Hizbullah guerrillas. The health minister says the toll could be as high as 750, including those still buried in rubble or missing. Among the civilian deaths are eight Canadians, two Kuwaitis, one Iraqi, one Sri Lankan and one Jordanian.
