Baby-killer Pimstein must pay NIS 1.5m to police

The Jerusalem Magistrates Court ordered Eli Pimstein, who is serving life in prison for murdering his 22-month old daughter, to pay the police a sum of NIS 1.5 million to compensate it for the search operation conducted after the infant girl went missing. The gruesome case kept the country riveted for four days in early December 2002 as Pimstein appeared on national television to beg the public to help find his missing daughter. Pimstein drowned his daughter, holding her under the water for several minutes, stuffed her body in a bag, and then disposed of the body in a hole he had prepared in a Jerusalem forest.
