Interior Minister Roni Bar-On promised on Tuesday that all local authorities eligible to receive their wages would be paid by 5 p.m., when the Histadrut Labor Federation is expected to announce whether or not a strike will take place on Wednesday.
Earlier, Histadrut Chairman Ofer Eini said that if no solution were found for the delay in local authority and religious council workers' salaries, the strike would take place as planned.
