Demonstrations only raise the price that will be demanded in exchange for the release of kidnapped soldier Gilad Schalit, Defense Minister and Labor chair Ehud Barak said in an interview with Army Radio Sunday. "I hope [the demonstration], God forbid, will not disrupt anything … we are doing everything possible to bring about Gilad's release." On Sunday morning over a hundred demonstrators were blocking the Kerem Shalom crossing ahead of a rally scheduled for later in the day, protesting the continued transfer of supplies and aid to Gaza whilst negotiations for Schalit's release fail to progress. The activists were hindering the movement of trucks transferring supplies to the Strip, Israel Radio reported.
