National Infrastructures Minister Binyamin (Fuad) Ben Eliezer approved on Tuesday the construction of a high-tension wire between Netivot and the Gaza Strip. Gaza residents have been campaigning for some time for Israel Electric to increase the supply of electricity to the Gaza Strip, and Ben Eliezer gave the green light after he was presented with data on the humanitarian crisis caused by the present shortage. The Defense Ministry will participate in the construction of the power line.
