BGU team to create green building standard for Mifal Hapayis

A team from the Man in the Desert Department of the Blaustein Institutes for Desert Research (BIDR) of Ben-Gurion University (BGU) has won a tender to develop criteria for green building for Mifal Hapayis. The team, headed by Prof. Isaac Meir, chair of the department, will develop the standards by which all Mifal Hapayis affiliated companies and organizations build green buildings. Mifal Hapayis, which funds the construction of educational, community and public buildings, will use the criteria to award a "green label" to all new buildings built under its purview and allocate its money to those who meet these standards.
