An 11-year-old boy from the village of Sajour died on Monday night after being strangled by a rope outside his house.
The boy was apparently trying to climb down from the second floor to the first with the rope, when it somehow coiled itself around his neck and choked him.
The boy's mother found him hanging unconscious, untangled him and called for help.
Magen David Adom paramedics who arrived at the house in a community near Karmiel performed CPR on the boy before rushing him to the Western Galilee Hospital in Nahariya, where he was admitted in serious condition. He died later in the evening.
