Brazilian foreign minister to visit on Thursday

Brazilian Foreign Minister Celso Amorim will visit Israel on Thursday as part of a Middle East trip. Amorim , who also visited Israel in 2005, will hold talks with President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert ,Foreign Minister Tsipi Livni , the head of the opposition Binyamin Netanyahu and with author Amos Oz. Brazil has offered to help Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts and attended the Annapolis peace conference and the Paris donors" conference. Brazil is also Israel's largest trading partner in Latin America. Amorim will also visit Syria, Jordan, and the Palestinian territories during his trip to the region.
