Court demands answer to whether A-G approved Gaza funds transfer

High Court Justice Amnon Rubinstein ordered the State Attorney's Office to respond by Friday afternoon with an answer to whether the transfer of NIS 175m. to Gaza banks from West Bank coffers had been approved by the attorney general.
It followed a petition filed by the Legal Forum for the Land of Israel for the court to issue an injunction ordering the closure of all Gaza crossings in order to prevent the transfer.
Olmert on Thursday approved the transfer of the funds, which are intended to pay January salaries for PA workers in Gaza.
