Dan ordered to freeze plans to stop Shabbat bus lines

The Transportation Ministry on Thursday ordered the Dan bus company to freeze its plan to stop operating nine bus lines on Shabbat afternoons, pending a discussion to be held at the ministry next week.
Dan announced the decision Wednesday, saying it was motivated "purely by financial considerations." Spokesperson Eitan Piksman said polls conducted by Dan showed that the hours canceled were the ones less in demand by the public. "If results were different, we would cancel other time slots."
